Patrick Walsh is a Democratic candidate for the NJ State Assembly, 24th District.

He lives in Mount Olive, NJ with his wife and two young children. As father, leader, and passionate tax payer advocate, Walsh is committed to taking on the special interests that have been running New Jersey for years. “I consider Northwest New Jersey a precious jewel we must enhance and preserve.” Pat is dedicated to making New Jersey a better place to live and raise a family. He has worked with members of The New Jersey Coalition of Property Tax Reform, The Citizens for Property Tax Reform and The Economic Development Committee of Mount Olive to help reduce property taxes. He also crafted a website “WakeUpNJ.com” that was noticed by many, all the way to Trenton. After many years of volunteer work, Walsh decided that he could not sit back and wait for others in Trenton to get the job done. “The truth of the matter is,” he says “many states have had the same problems we have and found ways to work together to fix them.” Walsh explains how many states have implemented caps on property taxes to ensure that more money remains in the hands of the public. By allowing citizens to have more disposable income, it has been proven that this increases state revenue in other areas. Other states discovered, through open and honest debate, that the tax “structure” was the problem. “When the method of levying taxes was changed,” Walsh says “a more equitable and efficient structure was achieved.” He believes that the Powers-That-Be in Trenton are not always open and honest, and many of them appear to have little interest in fixing the problem. He feels that it is imperative we do something immediately.Time is of the essence.
